Dementia Service Assistant (Casual)

Our Dementia Services provides a day centre group for individuals living with mild to moderate dementia. Our clients, who live either independently or with family members, enjoy a social setting where they can engage in activities such as music, singing, arts and crafts, and quizzes.

This is a role that requires a special type of person; it requires you. You have the commitment to care, the dedication to people, as well as the communication and organisational skills to support our clients.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Experience in a similar role within dementia services or social care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be creative and provide a range of activities
  • Good team player and ability to work on own initiative

The role

  • The role involves supporting the Dementia Services Manager in the daily operations of the service, ensuring a social day centre approach that promotes independence and inclusivity for clients with mild to moderate dementia.
  • Responsibilities include delivering person centred activities to enhance social, physical and mental wellbeing
  • Covering for the Dementia Services Supervisor when needed, maintaining service documentation, and training.
  • The role also involves maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding practices, and building effective relationships team members, clients, and carers.
