Climate Change Project Officer
Climate Change Project Officer
Salary: £39,026 - £44,063
Are you passionate about climate change and sustainability and looking to take your next career step in local government?
We are seeking an ambitious, proactive and highly organised individual to join our Climate Change team. You will play a key role in the delivery of our climate change programme of work including community engagement, as well as providing project support across the organisation.
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and presentations skills, as well as political awareness will be key to thriving in this role as you will be working closely with the community, internal teams and our Elected Members.
It is an exciting time to be in local government as reorganisation in Surrey gathers momentum. We are working towards the ambitious timescales set out by central government and you can be part of the change that will shape services for many years to come. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make a real impact and grow professionally with us.
About you
- You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with and present to colleagues, Elected Members, and the community.
- You will be available to attend frequent evening and weekend meetings and events across Elmbridge (with the opportunity to claim time off in lieu as compensation).
- You will demonstrate experience of undertaking research and critical analysis in a range of different subject areas and applying this to project development and delivery.
- You will have a high level of political awareness. You may have had experience of working in a political environment already, although this is not essential.
Have a look at all the essential criteria in the person specification as you will need to cover these areas in your application, but it’s your approach to work that will be your main asset.
