Residential Contracts and Compliance Manager
Lead the Change: become our Residential Contracts & Compliance Manager
Salary: £52,633 - £57,106
In this new role, we’re seeking an experienced Residential Contracts & Compliance Manager to oversee the management of our growing housing portfolio of around 100 homes, comprises a mix of general-needs affordable housing for rent and temporary accommodation for homeless households.
Having become a registered provider of social housing in 2024, we are in the process of appointing a new managing agent to deliver many of the day-to-day housing management functions from July 2025. You will be responsible for delivering on the council’s commitment to provide high quality homes and, ensuring that our residents live in safe homes, which are well managed and maintained and that our managing agent is delivering a customer-focussed, value-for-money service, in line with the contract specification.
Reporting to the Head of Housing, you will manage one member of staff and working collaboratively with colleagues, you will ensure that along with our managing agent, we are meeting our obligations as a social landlord, whilst also ensuring effective financial controls are in place and followed.

As the Residential Contracts & Compliance Manager, you will:
- Be responsible for managing our contract with our managing agent, with a focus on the mobilisation of the new service from July 2025 and delivery thereafter
- Monitor and review contract performance and where appropriate, identify and lead on actions to remedy non-compliance or under-performance
- Monitor the council’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, identifying areas of concern or risk and recommending or implementing solutions
- Collaborate with colleagues to make best use of stock, minimise rent loss and ensure that the stock is safe, well managed and maintained
- support and manage the Residential Property Co-ordinator
- Drive change and service improvement, developing, reviewing and implementing new policies, procedures and processes.
